Hello… Well our young designer entries were all so awesome - there is so much genius out there!
We received over 200 entries! All of which showed great talent and also showed how creative and amazing kids are! There are definitely a lot of young designers/artists/illustrators in the making!
Unfortunately there could only be one winner and the judges had their work cut out for them to decide.
Check the winning tee below and also the notable mentions chosen by the judges, these entries will be getting some spot prizes.
The top 90 designs have been laid up on our tees so check out the album here – truly amazing artwork.

Minti chats to one of our favourites Danielle, co-owner from Tiny People…
M: Tiny People was one of Minti’s first stockists in Australia, when did you open the store and why?
D: We (my sister Vanessa & I) opened our first store in Byron Bay in 2006…I’m still wondering why!! Nah we love it, we were bored and really at that point in time, good things for kids were hard to find as they say. We opened our online store and our Kirra Beach store in 2005 and life became crazy!! We since closed the Kirra store so we could spend more time with our munchkins…

M: The store summed up in 3 words?
D: crazy, fun & full of good times!! (more than 3 words i know!!)
M: Any new exciting news to share?
D: Life’s always exciting at tinypeople!! My new baby girl Frankie is super excited about the prospects of her wardrobe this season…and nothing beats summer days in Byron Bay so we’re excited about that too!
M: What do you like best about Minti?
D: Nick & Amy! No seriously, we love minti, it’s always a super fun range full of good styles, colours and fabrics. Minti never take themselves too seriously and are always about having fun and it shows in the collections every season! Everyone needs a bit of Minti in their lives!
M: Favourite Minti Winter 2010 garment?
D: The secret coat in black or grey was super cool… my son will be rocking his in New York this Christmas!
M: Favourite Minti Summer 2010/11 garment?
D: The watercolour birds bodysuit and chill skirt for girls and the black short and short tail tee for the boys!
M: Anything else you want to add?
D: Just a hint…watch out for the Winter 2011 range from Minti, it’s the best yet and you will want every piece!!

M: We love Milk and have had Minti stocked there since the beginning, what are the addresses for the stores…

M: What is Milk all about?
J: Milk is a ‘contemporary baby store’ and we stock everything new parents need for their wee ones (from buggies to cots to car seats to gorgeous clothing) as well as a groovy range of gifts. We generally cater for babies newborn - 2 years although sneak Minti clothing up to 4 years.
M: When did you start the store and why?
J: After a year of planning, we opened Milk in November 2005. We thought it was about time Christchurch folk could access all the very best and grooviest products for their special small people in one place. Up until then there were some great products out there but they were really hard to find and often only available on-line. Right from the early planning stages we were keen to have Minti in-store and we are really happy to be able to support them and other clever NZ companies. In response to customer demand we opened our second store in Christchurch, last year. So now we can be found in Ferrymead and in Merivale.
M: How did you come up with the name of the store?
J: Lots of late night brainstorming sessions! Milk to us means sustenance and nourishment for babies (and it was short and sweet!). We have had the occasional person ring to buy a bottle of Milk however!
M: If you could sum up the store in 3 words, what would they be?
J: ”We love babies!”
M: Any new exciting news to share?
J: Hey, we work in the baby industry so there is always exciting baby news! We have had customers stop in on their way home from hospital to show us their new babies and we get to meet gorgeous small people every day. We also have at least one staff baby a year, in fact the newest addition to the milk team is just two weeks old (congrats Kelly!). And, we are still excited by opening our Merivale store.
M: What is your favourite Minti winter 2010 garment?
J: Oh so many (this minti season has been hard on my shopping budget!) but my top picks would have to be the contrast Buzzy Crew and M-talk Marle Trackies for boys and the divine Secret Coat for girls..
M: What do you like best about Minti?
J: Milk loves Minti. We love Minti garments because they are edgy, fun, come in great colours and of course they are all great quality.
M: Can Minti facebook fans get any Minti deals at the store?
